Hi Everyone
Who ever would have thought we would all find ourselves in this situation.
Yesterday apparently, dentists were in the firing line by some members of the general public for being open and using up masks etc. We are currently open and trying to complete cases that we started and which cannot wait for any prolonged period of time, in the event that there is a lockdown. Whilst our business model is not geared to an emergency practice, we do still have patients that have issues that cannot be left unattended, for those wanting to keep their teeth. Keeping teeth or having implants placed where teeth have been lost prolongs health and longevity and that is well documented.
Some practices are already reducing their staff levels and minimising contact with patients. Dentists generally have been given access to limited numbers of masks as the government appreciates that dentistry is an essential service. If you have ever had a dental emergency and had to attend as a hospital emergency, you will have experienced most likely that you were turned away. Hospitals are simply not geared for dental emergencies – we are.
Whilst we can still operate, we will be available for emergency dentistry as well as some other procedures, but only in business hours. I strongly urge you to keep informed via our Blog and Facebook pages. We will man (or person?) telephones for as long as we can, but strongly advise that if you have to leave a message on the answering machine, that you also send an email to [email protected] and please have a telephone number listed in the email. We will be able to contact you to make an appointment if we are allowed to operate. Either way, we will get back to you as soon as practicable.
In the meantime, this photo was taken this morning. We get one thumbs up at least! If you like what you see, please give us a thumbs up too! A lot of people are telling us that the dental surgery is the safest place to be at the moment. 🙂
Warmest regards and stay safe.
John
