This week is Dental Health Week!
Did you know that almost half the world’s population is affected by oral diseases? To compound the situation, oral diseases are also strongly associated with other NCDs (non-communicable diseases). These include diabetes, heart disease, stroke, chronic respiratory disease, kidney disease, mental and neurological disorders (including links with Alzheimer’s Disease) and even some cancers.
The best advice that we can give to maintain a good oral health is as follows:
• Brush your teeth twice a day with fluoride toothpaste
• Clean between your teeth daily using floss, or interdental brushes, or a water jet teeth cleaner
• Eat a balanced diet and limit sugar intake
• Visit the dentist regularly for check-ups and preventive care.
Please feel free to call us on 02 4731 1599 for any dental associated questions.
Yours in good dental health
